Short answer: AI dispatch for HVAC is software that picks the right technician for each call based on skills, location, capacity and expected job value, and sometimes books after-hours calls by voice. In this directory HVAC and home-service shops have used Probook, ServiceTitan and Avoca; the table compares them on facts from each tool's page.
I'm Daniel Massaad. Dispatch is where HVAC ops either scale or break: the wrong tech on a no-cool call, eight locations each with their own board, or a Sunday furnace that never gets booked because nobody is in the office. "AI dispatch for HVAC" searches usually want proof that a shop actually handed assignment or scheduling to a model — not a demo of a glowing map. Trades AI Use Cases collects those public write-ups. This page is the HVAC / home-services cut.

What AI dispatch means in an HVAC shop
Right tech on every call. Match skill, average ticket and location instead of gut feel. Cardinal / Probook is the clearest recent public example across HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
Multi-location consolidation. One board, fewer dispatchers, most assignments automatic. See Del-Air (eight Florida locations).
Voice agent that books and dispatches. After-hours emergency that lands on a real tech. See Riley Plumbing (furnace call; HVAC overlap).
Schedule balancing. AI reshuffles the board so one tech isn't buried while another is light. See Deep Dive Plumbing.
End-to-end job automation. First call through dispatch in one flow. See Gulfshore Air.

Cardinal, a residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical company serving Madison and Milwaukee, Wisconsin (founded 1984, part of Redwood Services since 2025), had dispatchers assigning calls by location and gut feel about which technicians were "good." It switched to Probook, which uses a real-time model to assign the right technician to each job. Probook reports that Cardinal's average ticket across trades rose more than 20% year over year in the first six months, and that the company added four acquisitions, 14 technicians and 13,000+ customers without growing the front office at the same pace; dispatchers now have time to debrief every tech after every job. Cardinal also added Probook's AI CSR for after-hours and overflow calls that used to hit voicemail, which the vendor says booked 850+ jobs and $715,000+ in revenue in its first four months at an 82% true booking rate. Figures are vendor-published and not independently audited.
Florida's Del-Air (eight locations, 220+ technicians) put AI on dispatch first. Within three months it centralized dispatch at one office and went from 22 dispatchers to 10, with about 90% of call assignments now made automatically. It then made AI the first touch on all inbound calls: in May the AI handled 16,000 calls and resolved 74% of them without a person.
During a heat wave, a Gulfshore Air (Niceville, FL) customer with a freezing unit called and reached "Finn," the company's AI virtual agent. Finn booked same-day service based on real-time capacity, the job was tagged as a Google LSA lead with a membership opportunity, AI dispatch picked a tech by skills and predicted job value, and the tech sold a $1,185 job. Gulfshore reports $370,000 in added revenue over 30 days from automated marketing campaigns and a $150 higher average ticket. CNN separately reported that its techs use AI to pull up technical info instead of digging through 60-page manuals.
Owner Lawrence (Brook) Riley in Northern Nevada put AI voice agents and automated dispatch on his phones in 2025. On the Sunday before Christmas, with nobody working, the AI agent answered a no-heat call, scheduled it for the next morning and dispatched a tech, who closed a $1,060 ticket. Riley says his call-booking rate went from well under 50% to consistently over 80%, and ServiceTitan reports 19% revenue growth and a 170% increase in average deal size.
Richard and Felicia Flournoy opened Deep Dive Plumbing in Cartersville, GA in June 2025 and added ServiceTitan's AI layer that September. After the AI started balancing technicians' schedules, techs worked 8% fewer hours while earning 20% more. Richard says $10,000 of revenue now takes a tech 30 hours instead of 55, and revenue per hour worked went from $180 to $325, with seven technicians in the first year.
Chesapeake Electric, an all-service electrical company in Annapolis, Md., was struggling to reach customers for recurring-service follow-ups. Owner Ryan Deshaies turned on a prebuilt recurring-service text campaign that sends customers an online booking link, which drops the job straight onto the dispatch board, where AI-assisted dispatch assigns it by technician skill. ServiceTitan's story says work that used to take two to three hours of calls now takes minutes, and Deshaies says the company is booked out two weeks on recurring service. Chesapeake also coaches techs with an AI scorecard built from recorded customer conversations.

Pennsylvania HVAC and plumbing company HL Bowman had marketing generating more demand than the office could catch. It deployed four AI pieces together: 24/7 inbound call answering, instant replies to new web inquiries, outbound follow-up on missed calls and unconverted estimates, and automated scheduling. Avoca reports a 100% call answer rate, cost per conversion falling from $350 to $215, and 70% year-over-year revenue growth (which the vendor attributes to better capture and conversion across the funnel).
Probook — AI tech assignment and AI CSR (Cardinal, Del-Air).
ServiceTitan — AI voice / virtual agent that books against capacity and zones (Riley, related plumbing); recurring service scheduling (Chesapeake Electric).
Avoca — speed-to-lead and phones that feed the board (Homer, H.L. Bowman).
AI assigns the right technician to each call, checks customer history before jobs reach the board, handles inbound calls and web leads, runs outbound campaigns.

How to choose AI dispatch software for an HVAC company
Assignment, booking or both? Tech assignment (Cardinal) and after-hours voice booking (Riley) are often separate products.
Check it uses your rules. Ask whether it assigns against your own skill tags, zones and capacity.
Single board or many locations? Consolidating several locations (Del-Air) is a different project from balancing one shop's schedule (Deep Dive Plumbing).
Platform feature or add-on? If you already run ServiceTitan, its AI dispatch sits on the same board; Probook and Avoca work alongside other systems, so confirm the integration.
Keep a human handoff. Commercial, angry or out-of-playbook calls should reach a person.

FAQ
What is AI dispatch for HVAC?
Software that assigns technicians to calls using skills, location, capacity and expected job value instead of a dispatcher's gut feel, and in some products also books calls by voice. Cardinal (Probook) and Gulfshore Air (ServiceTitan) are sourced examples on this site.
Does AI dispatch replace dispatchers?
In the Del-Air entry, the company centralized dispatch at one office and went from 22 dispatchers to 10, with about 90% of call assignments made automatically. That's one multi-location company's reported result, not a rule.
Can an AI agent book and dispatch an after-hours call?
Yes, in at least one sourced case: at Riley Plumbing Heating & Air an AI agent answered a Sunday no-heat call, scheduled it for the next morning and dispatched a tech, using ServiceTitan.
Which AI dispatch tools do HVAC companies use?
In this directory: Probook (Cardinal, Del-Air) and ServiceTitan's AI scheduling and dispatch (Gulfshore Air, Riley, Deep Dive Plumbing, Chesapeake Electric). Avoca answers calls and books jobs that feed the board (Homer Home Service, HL Bowman).
How much does AI dispatch software cost?
Probook, ServiceTitan and Avoca don't list prices in our directory entries, so ask each vendor.
