AI content marketing for HVAC companies: replace paid ads with an AI content engine for your website
AirWorks Solutions
What they did with AI
AirWorks Solutions, a family-run HVAC and plumbing company in Camarillo and Ventura County, California (co-founded by Kevin and Stephanie Allen in 2010), was paying for most of its growth with ads. In August 2025 it moved its website onto Cortex, CI Web Group's AI content and optimization engine, which publishes a steady stream of trade-specific articles and service pages each month, with human review before they go live. In June 2026 the company relaunched on CI Web Group's Hydra OS platform with a home-issue selector, instant quote estimator, rebate intake and a mesh of city-by-service pages. According to co-founder Stephanie Allen, as reported by the vendor, AirWorks turned paid ads off entirely and net margins grew from roughly 10% to 25%; brand-search click-through rose from 25.9% to 33.0% in launch week. The margin figure is client-reported, not audited, and the source is published by a CI Web Group company.
Results above are as reported by the vendor or company in the source and haven't been independently audited by this site. Listing a tool is not an endorsement, and nobody paid for this entry.

AI outbound texting for HVAC and plumbing: follow up unsold estimates and fill the board with tune-ups
Genz-Ryan (Burnsville, MN)
Genz-Ryan, an HVAC, plumbing and electrical company in Burnsville, Minnesota, used to run outbound by having reps leave voicemails from spreadsheet lists, with several messaging vendors and every reply landing on a CSR. Autumn Brekke, who leads customer service, dispatch, inside sales and marketing, moved outbound to Avoca Outbound, which builds audiences from ServiceTitan data (with previews of dates and filters before anything sends) and stops a workflow automatically when a job is booked elsewhere or an unsold estimate sells. After a 70-customer test, a furnace tune-up offer went to roughly 400 to 450 customers in one day and the AI booked 70 jobs within a couple of hours; Avoca reports 115 AI-booked jobs that month. Genz-Ryan now runs 40 campaigns, including unsold-estimate follow-up (36% response and 24% booking rate over two weeks), cross-trade offers such as water heater flushes for HVAC customers, seasonal maintenance, and day-of ETA texts that the company says recovered close to a full dispatcher's day. It plans to use weather and schedule-capacity triggers to start and pause campaigns. Figures are vendor-published and not independently audited.
AI automation for plumbing and HVAC: have Claude build workflows that catch every lead and feed Google Ads real jobs
3R Plumbing & Mechanical
3R Plumbing & Mechanical, a veteran-owned residential plumbing and HVAC company in Norwell, Massachusetts, went from about $300,000 a year when Ross Hunt started it in his garage in 2022 to a projected $3.8 million this year with 15 employees. Hunt, a Master Plumber who says he's "not a computer person," describes the workflow he wants to Claude, which is connected to Zapier through Zapier MCP; Claude writes and publishes the automation and he reviews and tests it. ServiceTitan stays the system of record. Since late August 2026 he has put 36 of Zapier's AI-built Next-Gen Zaps live, running about 1,400 times a week. They email him when a booking from 3R's AI answering service, a lead marketplace or the website sits pending for 20 minutes, turn Facebook landing-page leads into ServiceTitan bookings with a text and a homeowner confirmation within seconds, flag jobs tagged to the wrong ad campaign, and send Google Ads the real booked jobs and completed-job revenue each morning so ads optimize toward work that pays. A 6:30 a.m. brief gives Hunt and his operations manager the day's board, callbacks and open capacity. Revenue figures are the owner's, as reported by Zapier.
Move AI from overflow to front-line call answering, step by step
High Ground Service Pros
High Ground (about 150 employees across NJ, NH and ME) started with AI only on overflow and after-hours calls in place of voicemail. It then moved AI to the front line one day a week, then two, then all five, with warm transfers to CSRs for escalations. The company reports AI now handles 75% of inbound calls, the abandon rate fell from 10% to 2%, AI books 81% of bookable calls, $250K-$300K a year in CSR costs were avoided without layoffs, and outbound SMS campaigns bring in $100K-$250K a month.
