Short answer: AI for roofers is software that answers or follows up on roofing leads, quotes a roof online from aerial measurements, turns inspection photos into reports, or coaches in-home sales reps. In this directory roofers have used Hatch with AccuLynx, Roofle, ScanShield AI, CompanyCam, EagleView, Siro and Rilla; the table compares them on facts from each tool's page.
I'm Daniel Massaad. Roofing is one of the trades where AI shows up in public write-ups most often: storm leads that go cold in minutes, inspection reports that used to eat an afternoon, and door-knocking that some shops replace with an instant online quote. People searching "AI for roofers" or "AI speed to lead roofing" usually want those stories — named shops, named tools, a link to the source. That's what Trades AI Use Cases is for.
AccuLynx is one of the queries that brings people to this site; we have a dedicated AccuLynx tool page and a sourced entry where Brown Roofing wired Hatch into AccuLynx for speed-to-lead and estimate follow-up. Figures below are from the linked sources and are vendor-reported unless the source says otherwise.
Where roofers actually use AI
Speed-to-lead and estimate follow-up. Text and nurture from CRM data so storm and retail leads don't sit. See Brown Roofing and Bone Dry Roofing.
Instant online roof quotes. Aerial measurements as a lead magnet instead of (or alongside) door knocking. See TrueWorks Roofing / Roofle.
Connecticut roofer Brown Roofing connected an AI texting and follow-up platform to its lead sources and AccuLynx CRM to run speed-to-lead, post-appointment estimate follow-up, long-term nurture of aged leads, and cross-sell campaigns to past customers. Follow-up that used to be "ad hoc and inconsistent" is now standardized and trackable. The case study reports the year-to-date conversion rate rose from the low 70s to 86%.
After 5.5 years of generating work by door knocking, Houston's TrueWorks Roofing added Roofle's RoofQuote PRO to its website in September 2023, so homeowners can get an instant quote based on aerial measurements of their own roof (Roofle says its instant measurements are AI-enhanced). Owner Joel Patzke uses it mainly as a lead magnet and to forecast cash flow. Roofle's case study reports 15 to 20 extra leads a month, a few more closed jobs a month from those leads (the page says both 2 to 4 and 2 to 5), and revenue rising from $2.9M to $4.3M, while noting Houston storms also played a role. These are vendor-reported figures that haven't been independently audited.
Fortress Roofing, a residential storm-restoration and retail roofer based in Kennesaw, Georgia (greater Atlanta), spent six months using ScanShield AI in daily operations. ScanShield analyzes drone and ground-level roof photos with computer vision to flag damage, assigns a standardized 0–100 roof condition score and produces a branded inspection report in minutes. "Before ScanShield, inspections required manual documentation, photo sorting, and significant post-visit reporting," said Tiffany Gore of Fortress Roofing in the announcement. "We've dramatically reduced reporting time and improved consistency across our team, and the standardized condition scoring has strengthened how we present findings to homeowners." No hard numbers were published. The release was issued by Presky Capital, ScanShield's backer, so treat it as a vendor account.

Owner Richie Kleti's team built a custom GPT, tied to historical job data and manufacturer specs, that turns a short voice prompt into an itemized, code-compliant Florida repair estimate. New hires can produce accurate estimates without waiting for senior staff to price every job. The team also uses an AI sales coach in role-play "sales cage match" sessions, where reps are mic'd up and get feedback on tone, objection handling and what to do better.

A roofing company owner posted that the after-hours and busy-line gap is where service businesses lose jobs, and that in his own roofing company an AI agent booked 26 sales appointments in the previous 30 days from calls no one on the team answered. He didn't name the tool.

Bone Dry Roofing (a $200M family of roofing and solar brands in 9 states) moved all outreach onto one AI communications platform: instant speed-to-lead across 11+ lead sources, missed-call follow-up, estimate follow-up, aged-lead nurture and customer care. A four-person team runs the same playbook across 17 instances. Hatch reports the appointment booking rate rose from 27% to the mid-to-high 60s and that rehash and follow-up campaigns closed more than $7M in a year.

American Home Contractors, a roofing, exteriors and solar company based in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area and a Tesla Certified Installer, uses CompanyCam's AI Walkthrough Notes on inspections. When the team inspects a roof or walks a property, they take photos and talk to their phone, and the AI organizes the photos and spoken notes into a structured document. They use it internally to help build bids and share it with homeowners to show what is happening at their home. The source is a CompanyCam blog interview with AHC Vice President David Silverstein; it reports no figures for the AI feature.

Kanga Roof, a family-owned residential and commercial roofer in Clinton Township, Michigan (Metro Detroit, founded 2006), has seven residential reps running up to 20 in-home appointments a day, far more than Residential Sales Manager Jim Jewell could listen to. The team records its appointments in Siro, an AI sales coaching platform, and Jewell gets a daily report on who is using it and who is winning; Siro's AI conversation analysis flags specific skill gaps such as price positioning, and reps review their own scorecards. In one case a rep used Siro's Follow-ups feature to find a prospect who had gone quiet and Ask Siro to write a follow-up message, recovering a $14,000 deal. Siro reports that within eight weeks of the relaunch Kanga Roof saw a 2x increase in individual close rate, $2,000+ more revenue per appointment and a 40% net close rate across 70 weekly appointments. Figures are vendor-published and not independently audited.

Homeowner enters an address and gets a quote on the contractor’s own products and pricing in about 30 seconds; vendor says measurements are AI-enhanced.

How to choose AI for a roofing company
Name the bottleneck first. Storm-lead response time, inspection write-ups and missed sales calls are solved by different products: follow-up (Brown Roofing), photo reports (Fortress Roofing) or missed-call booking (the missed-call entry).
Stay inside your CRM. Prefer tools that work with AccuLynx, JobNimbus or whatever you already run, instead of creating a second inbox nobody checks.
Keep a person on inspection results. Decide who reviews an AI condition score or damage report before it goes to a homeowner or adjuster.
Check what pricing is actually published. Roofle, Roofr and EagleView publish prices (see the table); the rest need a sales call.
Treat vendor numbers as vendor numbers. Conversion and close-rate figures in case studies aren't audits; read the source on each entry.

FAQ
What do roofers use AI for?
In the sourced entries on this site: speed-to-lead and estimate follow-up (Brown Roofing, Bone Dry Roofing), instant online roof quotes (TrueWorks Roofing), photo and drone inspection reports (Fortress Roofing, American Home Contractors, Tesson Roofing), missed-call appointment booking, custom GPT estimates (Leakbusters) and in-home sales coaching (Kanga Roof, Mr. Roofing).
How much do AI tools for roofers cost?
Few vendors publish prices. In our directory, Roofle published $350/month plus a $2,000 setup fee per market, Roofr published plans from free to $349/month with add-ons such as its $99/month AI Receptionist, and EagleView published per-report prices from $18, all as of Oct 19, 2026. AccuLynx, JobNimbus, ScanShield AI, Siro and Rilla don't list dollar prices in our entries, so ask each vendor.
Can AI write a roof inspection report?
Tools like ScanShield AI and CompanyCam turn drone or ground photos (and, for CompanyCam, voice notes) into a report. Someone at the company should still review it before it goes to a homeowner or adjuster.
Does AI replace door knocking for roofers?
One entry shows a shop using an instant online roof quote as a lead magnet instead of door knocking: TrueWorks Roofing with Roofle. That's one company's experience, as reported in the source.
Do I need a new CRM to use AI as a roofer?
Not necessarily. Brown Roofing paired Hatch with the AccuLynx CRM it already used, and CompanyCam lists integrations with AccuLynx and JobNimbus. Check that any tool writes back to the system your team already works in.
